On Maguindanao Massacre

The Press Photographers of the Philippines (PPP) joins the entire nation in condemning the massacre perpetrated by lawless criminals in Maguindanao that claimed the lives of at least 46 innocent persons including women , children and members of the media.

These atrocities have no place in a civilized society and we urge the concerned government authorities to immediately bring behind the bars of justice those responsible in these barbaric acts.

The incident is especially alarming in as much as it also claimed the lives of many working journalists which once again manifested the dangers newsmen faced in the performance of their duties.

But despite this harrowing incident, we at the PPP declare that we will continue to fight our cause for press freedom and nothing can stop us from bringing the truth to the people.

In the end, we demand a stop to these senseless political and media killings!

Long live press freedom !
